Carl William Bruehl, 82, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, March 28 at Norman Regional HealthPlex.

Carl was born on February 26, 1933, to William and Christine (Patton) Bruehl in Norman, Oklahoma where he grew up and later would raise a family. He graduated from St. Josephs Catholic Church High School. In 1954, he joined the United States Army and two years later, he met and married the love of his life, Lillie Mitchell whom he was married to for 58 years. Together they would raise four children Alan, Carla, Pam and Susan....

Carl William Bruehl, 82, of Norman, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, March 28 at Norman Regional HealthPlex.

Carl was born on February 26, 1933, to William and Christine (Patton) Bruehl in Norman, Oklahoma where he grew up and later would raise a family. He graduated from St. Josephs Catholic Church High School. In 1954, he joined the United States Army and two years later, he met and married the love of his life, Lillie Mitchell whom he was married to for 58 years. Together they would raise four children Alan, Carla, Pam and Susan.

In 1956, he became a fireman for the city of Norman and stayed with the fire department for 22 years retiring as a captain in 1978. In those 22 years, he had a farm east of Norman. In his spare time, he would grow some of the best tomato's and watermelons around. He became well known throughout the community for having some of the greatest produce in the area at the Farmers Market.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gerald Bruehl and sister Evelyn Stevens. He is survived by his wife Lillie, son Alan and wife Shawn Bruehl, daughter Carla Albright, daughter Pam and husband Carl Mason, daughter Susan and husband Ted Yates. He is survived by eight grandchildren; Steven Albright, Josh and wife Anna Bruehl, Colby and wife Jessica Mason, Chase and wife Tiffany Mason, Ashley Albright, Savannah Yates, Kade Yates and Bo Bruehl. He had seven great grandchildren, Morrison Bruehl, Paris Johnson, Jordan Albright, Matthew and McKayla Mason, Ava and Ani Mason. He also had two sisters: Judith Johns and her husband, Dana and Linda Reich and her husband, Loyal.

Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Primrose Funeral Service Chapel with Deacon Steve Lewis, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 ''' 8:00 pm Monday, March 30, 2015 at Primrose Funeral Service.
